The Backwater Gospel

Shorts: Moody, scary and a little violent...

...Just what you want in a short. It also has a great graphic style to boot, with dark and dirty looking characters.

Telling the story of a small backwater town who has a visit from the undertaker and his crows, the omen of death. The local preacher, a horrible, angry man, riles the townsfolk up to lynch a local musician who's not turned by the preachers faith... and all hell breaks loose.

I love this short by Bo Mathorne, and hope I get to see more from him and the team.

Skinned Onion is here simply because animation rocks.

I'm an 80's kid. Like most kids I grew up obsessed with cartoons and have had the joy of seeing animation evolve from The Red and the Blue stop motion through to Gollum coming to life in 3D. What excites me more is that with technology just getting better every time we turn around, there is still so much amazing animation out there using techniques that have been around before there were computers in every home.

I'm a fan. I'm not a professional animator, just someone who loves seeing inanimate objects bought to life in any way by us humans. Skinned Onion is just my way of learning even more about animated things and maybe showing you, the reader, a few new things along the way too.

All sorts of animation is covered here, not just your traditional 2D cartoons... So sit back, grab a drink and prepare yourself for a taste of puppets, muppets and marionettes as well as hand drawn, stop motion and computer generated magic.
